10th Anniversary of the Guantanamo Bay Prison
In this episode of the Truth Serum: The notorious prison celebrates its tenth anniversary. Despite promises by Obama to shut the prison it remain open even as Obama is ending his first term in office. Horrific Gitmo stories of torture and unlawful detentions continue to surface. Murat Kurnaz who spent five years sat the prison recently penned his thoughts as did Lakhdar Boumediene. A lawsuit was recently filed to force the U.S. Government to release video footage of harsh interrogations. Meanwhile the curator of the Bush’s torture policies is serving as a law professor at U.C. Berkeley. President Obama has continued on with Bush’s sordid legacy and recently signed the controversial NDAA bill authorizing military trials of suspected U.S. citizens.
