Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan’s death on Wednesday 11th January 2012 brought the number of Iranian nuclear scientists killed in the past two years to 4. According to IRNA, the state-run Iranian news agency, a magnetic bomb was planted under his car which killed Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan as well as a passerby, while ‘gravely’ injuring another.
Iranian officials were quick to blame Zionists – pointing to Israel’s Mossad as the main culprit which is taking out its nuclear scientists. Independent sources aren’t also far away from the deduction with most of them pointing to Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, and the United States. The Secretary of State for the US, Hillary Clinton was quick to deny. “I want to categorically deny any United States involvement in any kind of act of violence inside Iran,” she said.
