Navy Petty Officers Share First Same-Sex Kiss At Ship’s Return

Virginia Beach, VA. – A Navy tradition was given a modern twist Wednesday when two women sailors shared a “first kiss” after one of them returned home from a long trip out at sea.

As the two kissed, the majority of Naval personnel was busy greeting their family and may have missed it, but the smooch held a lofty amount of historical significance because it was the first time a same-sex couple ever won the honor – and was able to carry it out.
