Facebook ‘Likes’ Do Not Necessarily Predict The Personality Of An Individual
A recent Cambridge University research suggests that political leanings, sexuality and even intelligence of an individual can be predicted with the help of ‘likes’ on Facebook. According to privacy campaigners, the findings should ‘ring alarm bells’ for users. While the study cannot be denied there is one factor that should be kept in account when it comes to this highly popular social networking website.

Was Social Media’s Role Exaggerated In The Arab Spring?
It is a common belief that the Arab Spring had a lot of contribution from the online social networking sites. People who were on Facebook, Twitter made the revolution ‘happen’. There are many who think that Facebook acted as an instigator of the Egyptian Revolution and many who claim that without these online platforms, the revolution would have not been possible.

The Dilemma Of Tweet-shedding
The democratically elected government of Pakistan, with the passage of time has developed an unusual love-hate relationship with social network websites – most notably, Facebook and Twitter.
First it was the 2010 ban of Facebook, when one of its pages featured blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad. The PTA, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority made sure it banned all of Facebook for everyone in Pakistan. The latest now, was the ban on Twitter where apparently because of ‘contentious content’, the PTA exercised its authority and shut it down.
