In America we are surrounded by a mixture of people from all different cultures. Because of this we get to experience seeing a mixture of different hairstyles and types of hair as well. Hair says a lot about who we are inside and out. It is usually the first thing people notice. Unfortunately in our society there has become this negative message that there is “good hair” and “bad hair”. The root of this stereotype comes from race relations. “Natural hair” for black women is, by definition, hair that is not processed and not chemically altered.
