France Ban On Burka Encourages Rebel To Say, I’ll Stand For President

After the banning of burkas in France, two women have been fined as they decided to keep their veils on. 32-year-old Hind Ahmas and 36-year-old Najate Nait Ali, were sentenced yesterday under the law that bans anyone from hiding their face in public places, which includes streets, shops, restaurants and behind the wheel of a car. The maximum penalty is about £140 and, in some cases, citizenship classes. Since Ahmas and Ali refused to take off their burkas in the dock, they were not in court. MORE
